Early Treatment
Even though most people think of pre-teens and teens when they think of orthodontics, there are good reasons your child should get an orthodontic evaluation much sooner.

The American Association of Orthodontists recommends an orthodontic check-up no later than age 7. At this early age, orthodontic treatment may not be necessary, but when indicated, early treatment may prevent more serious problems from developing and may make treatment at a later age shorter and less complicated. Through early orthodontic screening, you’ll be giving your child the best opportunity for a healthy, beautiful smile that is good for life.

Adult Treatment
Braces aren’t just for kids anymore. Healthy teeth, bones and gum tissue respond well to orthodontic treatment – making it successful at almost any age. These aren’t the braces you remember your friends having when you were a teenager. They are more comfortable and almost invisible. In addition, the treatment times are shorter and require fewer visits.

Approximately 1/3 of our practice are adults. We welcome adults in our practice and are highly experienced in treating all phases of adult orthodontic problems. Braces are more and more acceptable in our adult society, as we see through male and female celebrities going through treatment, including Tom Cruise and Oprah Winfrey. If you have always wanted to have a beautiful smile, there has never been a better time.

First Visit
We are always excited about meeting new patients during your first visit to our office. During the free-of-charge initial examination, we will take a few imaging photographs on our newest computer and a couple of X-rays of your teeth. This will allow Dr. Mazzei to see more clearly your bite, facial and profile photos as she begins to diagnose your problem and develop your treatment plan. At this visit, we can outline the treatment plan, length of time for treatment and the fee. We will discuss any concerns or questions you may have. One of the keys to good patient service is to provide you with the opportunity to get started with orthodontic care at your pace of comfort.

Good News!
The new techniques and appliances we use greatly reduce discomfort levels, decrease the frequency of visists, shorten treatment time and may allow you to chooes from several options. Your options may include metal braces, self-ligating braces (similar to Damon), clear braces adn even transparent aligners or limited lingual braces to improve mild cases of misaligned teeth.
